If you have been allocated a SmarterMail email account by PINNACLE PIXEL, these are the instructions to help you set it up.

Firstly it is important to distinguish the difference between POP and IMAP. POP email is your conventional email account provided by any ISP's, where all your email is downloaded off the server onto your own PC. All IMAP email is always stored on the server, but it allows you to temporarily download emails to view on any PC.

We are going to explain how to set up your POP3 mail account using Outlook Express, but the same details can be applied to Netscape, Microsoft Outlook and other email clients.

As an example we are using a live account id which has been registered by us. You can use your own id for the purpose.

Set up your POP3 a/c with OUTLOOK EXPRESS

Step#1
After opening Outlook Express, cancel all operations that it is trying to run and click 'Tools' then 'Accounts'.

Step#2
Click 'Add' then 'Mail'.

Step#3
Insert your name in the dialog box that appears. Click 'Next'.

Step#4
Insert your email address.

Step#5
At the heading 'Email Server Names', ensure that the incoming mail server is an 'POP3' server.
Incoming mail server (POP3,IMAP,HTTP) server : 'mail.acopywriter.net'
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server : 'mail.acopywriter.net'
Ensure that you have typed in the correct server name here otherwise you will not be able to send and receive email.
Click 'Next'.

Step#6
Now enter your login and password details as shown below.

Account name : akash@acopywriter.net and the password related to this id...
Click on 'Next'. Then click 'Finish'.

Step#7
Click on 'Finish'.

Step#8
To make sure the SMTP settings are correct, please follow the procedure as per the illustration below.
The SMTP is an authenticated SMTP so it needs certain specific settings to be done. Before closing the Internet accounts dialog box, click the account just created (acopywriter.net) and click on the properties.
Go to Acccount Settings under the "Server" Tab and make sure the smtp server is mail.acopywriter.net.

Now Click on "My Server Requires Authentication" & then the Settings Tab.
Activate the radio button adjacent to "Log on Using" and then enter your full e-mail address and password.
Click on the "Remember Password" check box if you want Outlook Express to remember your password and log you in automatically.

Step#9
Similarly in the 'Advanced tab' make sure the Outgoing mail (SMTP) is 25 and the Incoming mail (POP3) is 110 by default.

If you want to leave a copy of all the downloaded emails onto your server then select the check box where it says Leave a copy of messages on server.
To save space, we suggest you, not to leave copy of messages on server for a long period.

  Click 'Apply' then 'OK'.
You're Now Ready to GO...
